While the majority of the flagship smartphones are following the mainstream norm of indulging in high-definition display and complete-touch experience; Microsoft, on the other hand, seems to have big plans for the same. The Redmond-based company has been working on its alleged Surface phone since the beginning of last year. It’s been almost two years since the initial speculations regarding the smartphone begin; thus, the fans have a lot of hopes pinned on the company to be able to deliver a product that is par excellence.
Even though, the reports regarding Microsoft working on a smartphone of its own began early last year, it was only towards the end of 2016 that CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella officially confirm that the firm was working on the ultimate mobile device ever, that is set to change the way smartphone market is perceived by the consumers.
This gave away to the curiosity of most of the smartphone manufacturers as well as the consumers, as to what is it that Microsoft plans on packing with its upcoming smartphone. Thanks to the numerous leaks and speculations, Microsoft’s plans were known to the public.
A foldable smartphone
On the basis of the information provided by these reports, it seems like the company plans on integrating a foldable technology with its upcoming Surface Phone device. Apart from this, the upcoming smartphone is expected to offer an enhanced photography experience through the means of its dual rear camera setup. There were many reports that indicated that the smartphone might be based on the Windows 10 software operating system.
However, at the same time, there were many others that stated that the smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip. The device is also further expected to come with Microsoft’s stylus pen, which is expected to provide an enhanced user experience to the Surface Phone users.
Company is currently working on the smartphone
Like mentioned before, the company CEO Satya Nadella later in 2016 made a statement suggesting that Microsoft was working on the ultimate mobile device – the kind that hasn’t been seen before in the smartphone market before. Regardless of what Microsoft is planning, the upcoming Surface Phone is ultimately going to fall in direct competition with the other leading flagship smartphones in the market including Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8, Google’s upcoming Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2, Nokia’s upcoming 8 and 9 smartphones and Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus as well. There is a lot of competition that Microsoft’s Surface Phone may have to face – therefore, it remains to be seen what exactly takes place towards the end.
