Apple’s highly anticipated iPhone 8 has several interesting stories from the Chinese microblogging website, Weibo. The latest leak of the smartphone showed that alongside the black and white case colors, the iPhone 8 will also have a copper gold color option. The new color is said to be originated from the upcoming smartphone’s dummy unit.

A Foxconn exec made it known on his public social feed that due to smartphone’s special design and OLED display, the mobile device will not be available at a cheaper price. Meanwhile, new images of the handset’s rear case color were spotted on Weibo.

Nonetheless, the photo’s validity is unclear. But, 9to5 Mac reported that in addition to iPhone 8’s black and white color option, the images depicted Apple’s 10th anniversary iPhone in a copper gold color.

The leak photo also revealed the smartphone’s cutout for the earpiece, sensors, camera and the new edge-to-edge display. The handset’s rear sides showcased the vertically aligned dual camera setup, while the sides revealed the iPhone 8’s elongated home button.

Meanwhile, with several reports claiming that the release date of Apple’s OLED iPhone would be delayed, KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, made it known that the new smartphone will roll out on-time, Apple Insider reported. The device will be announced and will be launched in September.

The analyst stated that the Cupertino based tech titan will announce the 10th anniversary iPhone and will simultaneously reveal the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus.

Device in limited quantities

Even though Apple is expected to roll out the OLED iPhone on-time, the analyst claimed that the handset will arrive in limited quantities.

The supply of the mobile device will be extremely tight, about 2 to 4 million units would be available. As for the other two upcoming iPhones, Apple is expected to launch 35 to 38 million iPhone 7s, and 18 to 20 million 7s Plus.

Specs of the smartphone

In spite of that, the iPhone 8 is expected to arrive with a 5.8-inch OLED edge-to-edge display.

The device is anticipated to be available with a wireless charging support, rear-facing Touch ID sensor, P2P payments, face-scanning technology and support for LTE speeds up to 450Mbps. The smartphone will be powered by Apple A11 chip and will run on iOS 11 operating system with improved Siri.

The mobile device is expected to have a $1,100 to $1,200 price tag. The tech company might offer the smartphone in 128GB and 256GB configurations.
