Huawei is expected to roll out its Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro Android smartphones with a bezel-less design. The handsets are expected to arrive later this year. Nonetheless, a new report claimed that the Mate 10 Pro would be the only variant to come along with a full-screen display design.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is expected to launch the Huawei Mate 10 and the Mate 10 Pro smartphones with amazing specs. But, the most intriguing about the two models is the Pro variant. According to Phone Arena, the Chinese website Zol has cited an unnamed Weibo user who claimed that the Pro model would be available with a bezel-less design.

The Chinese website Zol made it known that the Mate 10 will be launched with a standard screen, which means the mobile device will be available with a thick top and bottom bezels. The regular model's fingerprint scanner will be located at the front, which could indicate that the handset would look like the P10 smartphone.

Meanwhile, the fingerprint sensor module of the Pro model is located at the back of the handset. This could make the Pro variant a direct successor to the Mate 9.

Several smartphone enthusiasts were disappointed about the news. Nonetheless, the regular variant was previously rumored to have a Lite model. There’s a possibility that the Lite variant with 5.8-inch display will be the regular handset, while the 6.1-inch display will be Pro model.

Smartphone’s specs

However, the Huawei Mate 10 handset boasts an iris scanner and a 4000mAh battery. The smartphone is expected to be powered by the Chinese tech company’s HiSilcon Kirin 970 processor (based on the 10nm process) with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, Know Your Mobile reported.

The display of the device is anticipated to have 1080 x 2160 pixel resolution with an aspect ratio of 18:9, which is identical to the LG G6 and Samsung’s Galaxy S8.

On the camera front, the handset will feature a vertical dual camera setup. One camera boasts a 12MP RGB sensor, while the other features a 20MP monochrome sensor. The smartphone is said to come along with Leica-branded lenses. The dual camera of the handset is a direct threat to the highly anticipated smartphones of the year - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Apple iPhone 8.

Release date of the device

The device is expected to be launched in Germany on October 16. Considering the specifications and stunning display, the smartphone is expected to have a $1,000 price tag. The tech giant has yet to announce the official release date of the handset in the U.S.
