HTC company is expected to roll out its HTC Ocean Life smartphone later this year. However, reports are claiming that the tech company will dub the upcoming smartphone as the HTC U11 Life, which would be U11 flagship’s mini variant.

Android Authority confirmed the name of the HTC U11 Life. The media outlet also shared an image of what appears to be the smartphone’s front, which seems to resemble the HTC U11 flagship device. The smartphone still features a fingerprint sensor, capacitive home button as well as a thick top and bottom bezel. However, the HTC U11 Life would be the flagship device’s smaller, slightly lower-spec model.

According to Know Your Mobile, the HTC U11 Life handset will be equipped with a 5.2inch full HD 1080p display, 3.5mm headphone jack, and an IP67 waterproofing. The 3.5mm headphone jack feature will indicate that the regular variant would utilize the tech company’s USonic Type-C USB headphones, which will allow the smartphone to tune the audio experience to the user’s ear canal.

Camera specs of the smartphone

HTC’s upcoming mid-range smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 system on chip (SoC) with a 32GB of built-in storage, expandable up to 2TB through a microSD card. On the camera front, the mobile device will feature a 16MP rear camera with phase-detection autofocus and a 16MP front camera with Panorama Selfie.

Device with Edge Sense technology

The mid-range device will be pre-installed with Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with the company’s Sense 9.0 user interface and the Edge Sense feature. Edge Sense technology’s inclusion for the mobile device indicates the desire of the tech giant to feature it to more of its handsets and not limiting it to its flagship devices.

The smartphone will come with a 2,600mAh battery.

The mobile device is anticipated to go on sale in the United States through T-Mobile, and an unlocked basis directly via the tech giant’s official website. However, there are no further details regarding the smartphone’s launch date and price, but the new handset is expected to be cheaper compared to HTC U11’s price tag.

If the company’s latest mobile device is coming, then the IFA 2017 event would be a prime opportunity to debut the handset.

That being said, the company’s U11 lineup turns out to be quite successful, but the addition of the new mid-range device appears to be interesting for several smartphone enthusiasts.
