Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy Note 8 smartphone could arrive in a couple of weeks. The handset recently appeared on Geekbench, confirming some spec details that have been circulating online.

GSM Arena reported that a Samsung smartphone (model number SM-N950F) with Android 7.1.1 pre-installed was spotted on the benchmarking website, Geekbench. Judging by the benchmark results, the device is believed to be the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phablet.

According to Phone Arena, the Geekbench listing made it known that the handset will have the Exynos 8895 processor for the international variant, while the Snapdragon 835 system on chip (SoC) will be used for the U.S.

models. The Snapdragon 835 has an octa-core processor running at a clock speed of 1.69GHz. The Galaxy Note 8 will also boast a 6GB of RAM.

The Geekbench listing pretty much confirms that the mobile device will be the first of the South Korean tech giant to arrive that much RAM. In terms of the performance of the smartphone, the device scored 1984 on the single-core test and 6116 on the multi-core test. The results indicate that the upcoming smartphone would not be too far off from the capabilities of the Galaxy S8.

Smartphone’s release date

Meanwhile, the smartphone’s pre-order dates have recently surfaced online as well. The pre-order of the Galaxy Note 8 kicks off on September 1 and ends on September 10, Value Walk reported.

The tech company will then officially release the handset in stores on September 15.

However, smartphone enthusiasts need not wait that long to take a look at the mobile device. Samsung is expected to reveal the Galaxy Note 8 as soon as August 23. The design of the new handset is expected to resemble the S8 smartphone. The upcoming phablet is expected to arrive with a 3D Touch-like feature as well as an enhanced S Pen.

Samsung’s new device is anticipated to compete with Apple’s iPhone 7s, 7s Plus and the much-awaited iPhone 8. Rumor has it that the Note 8 will arrive with a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with 1440 x 2960 pixel resolution. Aside from that Samsung’s new smartphone will have a bigger panel and features pressure sensitivity, the device will also boast a rear dual camera setup.

On the connectivity front, the smartphone will be equipped with a Wi-Fi 802.11, A-GPS, and USB Type-C. The device would be available in four color options - Maple Gold, Deep Sea Blue, Orchid Gray, and Midnight Black. The handset will further come packed with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, compass, gyro, accelerometer, barometer, proximity, and an Iris scanner.
