After months of leaks and anticipation, Samsung will finally unveil its Galaxy Note 8 phablet. The tech company is expected to officially reveal its all-new smartphone at the Galaxy Unpacked event in New York City on August 23.

However, before the South Korean tech giant rolls out its latest smartphone, the company offered smartphone enthusiasts a glimpse at what to expect from the highly anticipated handset. The new videos of the smartphone indicated some of the distinctive attributes that are worth marketing before the mobile device hits the smartphone universe.

According to 9to5 Google, the first video showcased the camera’s optical zoom feature. The video is in line with speculations claiming the upcoming smartphone will come along with a 2x optical zoom. However, the first video also hints about the handset’s bokeh effect.

The second teaser video of the smartphone showcased the S-Pen feature that would edge Samsung's latest smartphone over other flagship devices. The S-Pen will allow users to easily share their drawings. The company is also expected to announce the S-Pen during the Galaxy Unpacked event as well.

Smartphone’s pre-order schedule

Meanwhile, popular tech leaker, Evan Blass, made it known that Samsung will kick off the Galaxy Note 8 pre-order on August 24, a day after the tech company’s launch event.

Blass also claimed that the device will roll out on September 15.

Specs of the device

According to the Investor Place, the Galaxy Note 8 will be available with a 6.4-inch AMOLED Infinity Display with 2960 x 1440 pixel resolution. The soon to be unveiled device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 system on chip (SoC), coupled with 6GB of RAM.

The Snapdragon powered smartphone will likely be available in the United States, while the Exynos powered handset will be available elsewhere. The battery of the smartphone will be smaller than the Note 7. The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to arrive with a Non-removable Li-Ion 3,300mAh battery.

In terms of connectivity, the smartphone will be equipped with a Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB Type-C.

The device's sensors include an iris scanner, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, compass, and gyro. The handset is expected to be available in different color options - Maple Gold, Midnight Black, Deep Sea Blue and Orchid Gray. The handset is expected to arrive with a $1,000 price tag.
