If latest reports are to be believed, KGI Securities claims that Apple iPhone 8 will come out in three colors only and that the immensely-anticipated smartphone will go into mass production in mid-September. Latest leaks also suggest that the phone won’t have any Touch ID integration. Apple’s 10th anniversary version iPhone has been a hot topic for a long time and has made headlines since 2016. Live photos of the jaw-dropping smartphone have appeared online along with its casing. Apple iPhone 8 may have limited availability in the beginning once it launches.

Shortage of iPhone 8 units

The news of a September release has brought smiles on the faces of Apple fans. The product verification test will be carried out in August and will go into mass production in mid-September, states KGI Securities’ top analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Apple Insider was the first to report Kuo’s remarks. He has also stated that Apple will produce only 2-4 million units in this quarter, though production may be quickly ramped up to 45-50 million units. For all iPhone variants, the wall adapter and the Lightning-to-USB-C cable will be sold separately.

“The OLED version will be in short supply as we forecast shipments in 3Q17 will be 2-4mn units or less. We do not think production of the OLED iPhone will pick up substantially before 4Q17; and given strong demand, tight supply may persist until 1Q18 before improving much,” Kuo reportedly told MacRumors.

Apple iPhone 8 features

All variants will support fast charging. Experts believe that Apple iPhone 8 will come out in three color variants: Gold, Silver, and Black. Details about Touch ID are expected to leak as the smartphone nears launch. The phone is expected to sport a nearly bezel-less OLED display, an A11 chipset, wireless charging, and Augmented Reality (AR) features.

The 3.5mm audio jack and home button will be absent. Some are also expecting a vertical dual-camera setup but no fingerprint scanner at the front or even at the back.

It is highly possible that the smartphone maker is giving more importance to Face ID than Touch ID. Only time will tell if this is true or not. Apple iPhone 8, iPhone 7s, and iPhone 7s Plus casings have also been leaked.

There is a cutout at the back of the iPhone 8 handset. The cutout could be for the fingerprint scanner or simply for the Apple logo, reports NDTV Gadgets 360. Analyst Kuo has also claimed that Apple has run into design restrictions and supply chain problems. Stay tuned on Blasting News for more updates on the Apple iPhone 8.
