HMD Global-backed Nokia has gained momentum since the beginning of this year. The good times for the Finnish tech giant began at the MWC 2017 event that took place in February, where the firm revealed a list of new Android-based devices alongside its classic 3310 phone. The smartphone market was disrupted, thanks to the introduction of the nokia 3, 5 and 6 smartphones. However, it doesn’t appear as though the Company is done with this year yet, as they are planning to unveil more smartphones before 2017 ends.

Smartphone will release soon

Apart from its high-end Nokia 9 smartphone – the company is also expected to take the wraps off its Nokia 2, 7 and 8 smartphone towards the end of Q3, 2017.

All of these smartphones have already been leaked on numerous occasions, giving fans enough information to live on until the launch date. The Nokia 3 smartphone, on the one hand, is expected to be powered by MediaTek MT6737 and will fall in the mid-range category. The Nokia 5 and 6 smartphones will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 processor and will be much more powerful and slightly more expensive than Nokia 3.

However, they will fall in the mid-range category as well – so are not likely to cost more than $200. A fresh leak claims that Nokia plans on utilizing chipsets from both, MediaTek and Qualcomm for its Nokia 2 smartphone. In other words, the upcoming Nokia 2 smartphone will come in two different variants, i.e.

one that will be powered by MediaTek processor and the other one that will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 212. The latest listing also indicates that the Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 smartphones will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 and 660 processors respectively. These are the ones that will fall in direct competition with smartphones in the mid-range category.

Nokia 9 will be a flagship smartphone

Coming to Nokia’s high-end flagship smartphone – Nokia 9. According to Gadgets360, the device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 SoC. The launch date of the smartphone is not confirmed. If this turns out to be true, then the device will fall in direct competition with other leading smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, Note 8, Google’s speculated Pixel 2 smartphone and the Microsoft Surface Phone as well. However, since none of the above-given information has been confirmed by the company as yet, it is best that all of the rumors should be taken with a grain of salt.
