HMD Global-backed nokia is working on introducing its flagship smartphone the Nokia 9 to the market later this year. The upcoming smartphone is going to fall in the high-end category and is expected to compete with other big smartphone brands including Samsung, Apple, and Google. Rumors and speculations regarding the upcoming smartphone have been flooded the internet. The latest leaks emerge from Germany and suggest that the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor along with a 5.7-inch 2K display for an enhanced video-viewing experience.
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835
Germany-based website WinFuture posted recently about the upcoming Nokia 9 smartphone. According to the information listed on the website, the upcoming smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835. The processor that is expected to power Nokia 9, is apparently the same as the one that is going to power Samsung’s flagship smartphones S8, S8 Plus, and Galaxy Note 8 smartphones. In fact, even Google is speculated to power its upcoming Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones with the same motherboard. It seems like all the major smartphones will be powered by the same processors that consist of eight 64-bit processing cores divided into two clusters, each of who comprise of four Kryo 280 CPUs.

Furthermore, the Nokia 9 smartphone will further be powered by Adreno 540 GPU for graphics. On the display front, the alleged smartphone is expected to sport a 5.7-inch 2K display for an enhanced video-viewing experience. Apart from this, the report posted by WinFuture also claims that the upcoming smartphone will offer 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage as well.
The storage offering made by Nokia doesn’t seem too impressive as such.
Nokia is expected to debut over four color variants with its Nokia 9 smartphone. If reports are believed to be true then the upcoming smartphone will be made available in Blue, Steel plus Silver, Gold plus Blue and Gold plus Copper color variants. It was previously widely speculated that Nokia might pack a dual rear camera setup with its Nokia 9 smartphone.
However, the news hasn’t been confirmed by the Finnish tech-giant as yet. Therefore, readers are advised to take the information with a pinch of salt. As the Nokia 9 will fall in the high-end category, the device won’t be priced anywhere below $650.
