LG launched the LG G6 premium smartphone earlier this year. The device received positive reviews from most fans and critics. However, it got overshadowed due to the launch of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ handsets in March. This may be why the LG G6 failed to meet the expected sales target assigned by the company and has since undergone hefty amounts of discounts in the mobile market.
However, the smartphone maker is poised to launch another high-end handset in the market soon. Many fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the LG V30 which will replace last year’s popular LG V20 device.
The new handset is all set to be unveiled, according to well-known tipster Evan Blass. The South Korean company plans on revealing the LG V30 on August 31, at the IFA event to be held n Berlin, Germany.
Smartphone launch in August
On Wednesday, July 12, Evan Blass posted an invitation which said that the upcoming LG V30 handset will be unveiled on Thursday, August 31, during the pre-IFA 2017 event in Berlin. This report is in line with an earlier report which stated that the LG V30 would be launched exactly a year after the LG V20’s launch. The LG V20 was unveiled on September 6, 2016.
However, the leaked invitation by the company is not the only clue that it is planning to launch the LG V30 in August.
The company itself mailed the invitation to many of the renowned tech news publications. This further goes to show that LG will indeed make a big announcement during the IFA event, and this announcement would most likely be regarding the premium LG V30 handset.
The invitation does not give any other information or does not show the impending handset.
However, it just reveals a black silhouette of the smartphone’s display along with the letter ‘V’ inscribed on it. All of this points to the LG V30 being revealed during the show.
Expected specs of the phone
The upcoming LG handset is supposed to boast a large display with almost no bezels, similar to that of the LG G6. The display should be somewhere around 6-inches.
It is also expected to come with a Quad HD resolution display. The smartphone will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 835 chipset, along with either 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM. The memory capacity of the handset is also expected to be either 64 GB or 128 GB.
Apart from these features, the new LG V30 would also most likely sport dual rear facing cameras and a fingerprint sensor at the back. USB C and 3.5mm headphone jack may also be present on the handset. Some fans have speculated whether the LG V30 may feature an OLED display as well.
