The Huawei Mate 9 handset featured some high end Specs and features, which managed to impress many fans. Rumors of the Mate 10 started quite a while back speculating what the next Huawei handset would feature. These speculations have made the Mate 10 almost as highly-awaited as the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phablet or the upcoming Google Pixel handsets.
However, The Android Soul reports that now a leaked render along with some specs that the impending Huawei smartphone will feature has surfaced online. The leaked image shows the overall design of the device, while the specs list indicates the hardware and software features of the upcoming handset.
Leaked design and specs of Mate 10
Supporting previous rumors and claims, the leaked render seems to reinforce that the Huawei Mate 10 would be almost completely bezel-less. Only a very small portion on the handset’s front face is reserved for the selfie camera and the speaker grille. Apart from this, the display really seems to have no bezels anywhere on the device.
The screen is said to measure 5.8-inch and can support 2K native resolutions. Previous reports have also indicated that the Mate 10 will have higher aspect ratio that the Galaxy S8 duo, but there has been no concrete information to support the claim. The report also states that the upcoming Huawei flagship will be powered by the in-house Kirin 970 chipset, which is based on the same 10nm architecture used by Qualcomm in its Snapdragon 835 SoC.
Other features which also came to light as a result of the leak include the presence of a 16-megapixel selfie camera, while the smartphone is said to sport dual rear lens of 34-megapixels. What is even more impressive about the premium Huawei handset is that it is expected to run the yet to be released Android 8.0 out of the box.
Previous rumors and release date
A previous report also claimed that the rear cameras could support 3D functionality, which could be used for some Augmented Reality functionalities. However, this has not been confirmed yet by the company. The report also mentioned that the Mate 10 would support 18:9 aspect ratio and not the standard 16:9 ratio that its predecessor used.
This would mean that the Mate 10’s display would be taller but narrower vis-à-vis the Huawei Mate 9’s.
The Huawei Mate 10 is expected to release in October although a particular date has not yet been confirmed by the company. The price tag that the handset would sport is also an unknown aspect at this point of time, although considering the high-end specs the price would also be on the higher side.
