Verizon has pushed a fresh update with support for Android Pay and improvements to Bixby for the samsung galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ handsets. If you have access to the phones, you will receive a message notification, which prompts you to install the update. However, it will take few days for the update to hit your smartphones depending upon the location because the US-based mobile carrier has rolled out the update via over the air (OTA).

While the version number for Samsung Galaxy S8 is tagged as NRD90M.G950USQU1AQEF, the update for the Galaxy S8+ bears the software version NRD90M.G955USQU1AQEF.

The features included with the update are common for both devices.

Latest bug fixes

The update fixes a problem associated with the visual voicemail app. It has been updated in such a way that the normal playback is assured when the device is moved closer to the ear. The latest patch also prevents disconnections related to Bluetooth when synced with a Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch. Moreover, the update also resolves frequent crashes associated with Samsung Notes. You will also experience improvements when it comes to Wi-Fi calling.

With Android Pay, you will be able to perform various transactions using your Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. You will be able to add debit and credit cards including gift cards to Android Pay.

The app can be used for shopping in retail stores and via select e-commerce portals.

Bixby features

If you install the patch, you will notice significant new additions to Bixby. The main purpose of the Bixby Home is that you will be able to visualize all the previous actions carried out via the voice-based digital assistant using a single Samsung ID.

If you are currently working with Bixby, you should accept the terms and conditions. Moreover, you can access the intelligence features included with Bixby by pressing the relevant icons located at the top right side of the handset.
