Amazon Echo, a product developed by Amazon USA has been selected for the Disruptive Device Innovation Award at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress 2017. While Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge bagged the best smartphone of 2016, Sony Xperia XZ Premium has been awarded the best new smartphone.
As part of the MWC, the GSMA, which is a PAN-European organization will select best among all categories of exhibitors based on various parameters. The winners will be awarded the Global Mobile Awards shortly called GloMo in the form of statuettes. The award is considered as prestigious since companies can make use of the tag to push products to consumers.

Amazon Echo is a premium voice-driven digital assistant, which is used to perform various activities quickly. Sony had launched four new smartphones such as Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZs, Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra at MWC 2017. The phones are manufactured using premium quality display technology, camera sensor with Motion Eye technology alongside a powerful processor for lag-free performance.
Moreover, Sony designed the newly launched handsets using a luminous chromium body to provide a premium look and feel. As always, Samsung is well known for its premium Galaxy S7 Edge with high-end specifications.
Some of the other winners are Vodafone (Mobile Network), Jazz (Mobile Product for Women), Salesforce USA (Mobile app for business), Orange VR1 (Trending Wearable mobile technology), Huawei (Premium technology enabler and 5G evolution).
While Pokemon Go snatched the Judge's choice best overall mobile app award, Nokia has been selected as the best IoT innovator for mobile business. Meanwhile, Anar Simpson won the Industry Leadership Award in the Women4Technology category.
