The Nintendo Switch has been hammered by criticism since its announcement on a number of titles that will be available at launch. Generally, consoles will come out with a wide variety of sports, action, adventure, fighting, and first-person shooter titles. That won't be the case for Nintendo's new unit, which will have five physical titles on the first day with four additional games available for digital distribution only.
However, more options have just been announced to bring that total up to 12 games.
Delay of 'The Binding of Isaac' for Nintendo Switch
There's undeniably one title that's receiving all the attention on launch day -- The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The latest adventure game has been something Nintendo fans have been waiting for a long time to receive. It's been delayed multiple times and was pushed further back to become a simultaneous Switch launch title and the Wii U's final gasp. Nintendo's other title on launch day is 1-2 Switch, which is being advertised as a multiplayer party game that has people doing crazy things with the detachable remotes.
Perhaps one of the better titles in the launch library was critically-acclaimed The Binding Of Isaac: Afterbirth+. This rogue-style game from Nicalis features the same top-down look of earlier The Legend of Zelda entries in the late 1980's and early 90's. However, due to late issues that have propped up in the port, the developer stated that the game would be delayed until the end of March.
Shin'en and Yacht Club saves the Nintendo Switch
While the loss of Nicalis' title hurts the launch day lineup, Nintendo confirmed that there would be three additional indie titles for digital distribution on March 3rd. The first is Shin'en's exclusive title, Fast RMX. This title aims to give players extreme futuristic racing at 60 frames per second and 1080p resolution.
It's similar to Extreme-G, or what might be more familiar to Nintendo fans, F-Zero.
Yacht Club Games will be bringing the other two titles based off of their extremely successful franchise, Shovel Knight. The first is Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, which features the full original game with DLC. The other DLC sold separately is Specter of Torment. These games will give rogue fans something to tide themselves over until The Binding of Isaac is released.
