“Red Dead Redemption 2” is expected to come out by the Fall of this year though details have remained limited. Rockstar Games created quite a stir in October of last year when they announced the coming of the sequel.
Rockstar has kept game development updates at a minimum which should further ramp up expectations. Aside from the fact that it will be another action-western flick, other features, and storylines for the upcoming game are kept at a minimum to none.
Rockstar Games progress on 'Red Dead Redemption 2'
If one is to speculate, Rockstar Games is likely to be at least in the middle of the game development for the second installment.
The company has been kept busy with other game titles such as “Grand Theft Auto Online”, offering added content to keep players busy.
With that in focus, it will be interesting when folks will catch a glimpse of the sequel. There were speculations in December that the sequel would be part of the PlayStation Experience 2016 but it was not among the games that were showcased in Anaheim, California.
The game is expected to offer the usual campaign mode and possibly some online mode integration. This has been done with their other games such as “Grand Theft Auto 5”.
Online mode may kill sequel
While the addition of online options is a standard in most games to date, some are apprehensive about it.
Critics believe that the single-player campaign of the game could take a hit though most of that falls into the hands of the ones behind the game controllers.
Related to that, there is the impact that a western-style game setting would have. With most games today adapting to the modern day setting, there are critics who believe that all this may fail to strike it well with modern games.
News related to the sequel is expected to ramp up in the coming months, particularly when Fall nears. Similar to the first installment, lead character John Marston is expected to be back plus the possible use of new and massive maps similar to their other game offerings.
