If you needed any more proof that the Nebraska football talent pool is only getting better, then please look directly at Teddy Prochazka. The 2021 offensive lineman has long been considered one of the best players in the state for the 2021 class. As of Tuesday afternoon, the prospect is also officially considered one of the top 50 players in the entire country.
Rivals 100 honor
Teddy Prochazka was among those who were named in the Rivals 100 list for the 2021 class this week. Even better than that is that the Nebraska football target is not "just" inside the 100 best players, he's very firmly in the top half.
The offensive lineman, who 247Sports also has ranked as the number two player in the entire class of 2021 is ranked as the 43rd best player by Rivals. That's in the entire country. It's a definite honor for the 4-star prospect who comes from Elkhorn South, not exactly a school that has been an FBS feeder school over the years.
Prochazka might be changing that. It's possible that other programs are going to be taking a look towards that school from here on out. It's clear that they are looking at his program at the moment. The Huskers are far from the only school that has come calling.
Arizona State, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Iowa, and Iowa State have all made official scholarship offers.
The good news is that the Nebraska football team is expected to be the big leader for the player.
The bad news is that if they somehow lose out in this recruiting battle, it's going to sting a couple of different times. Of all the teams that are grappling for the offensive lineman, one of the most interesting has to be Michigan.
The Wolverines have been coming into the state to recruit Nebraska kids more than they have in recent years.
Oddly enough, it feels like the new interest in Nebraska kids seems to mirror when Scott Frost landed in Lincoln. Of course, it's entirely possible that Frost and company just had the good fortune of coming to town just as the talent pool for Nebraska football started to get quite a bit better.
Camping with the Huskers
Underlining that Nebraska football appears to be the team to beat for the services of Teddy Prochazka, the 4-star offensive lineman recently came to the Cornhuskers' "pipeline camp." He was also considered one of the players that is reported to have performed very well.
The Omaha World-Herald reports the Elkhorn South product appears to have put on a little more weight on his 6-9 frame. In addition to bulking up, those who witnessed his performance say he demonstrated the quick feet that is so important for a highly touted offensive lineman. It was at this camp the Nebraska football prospect picked up his offer from Arizona State.
