The Kansas City Chiefs are going to be very good again next year. That's hardly a surprise given the kind of talent that's coming back. Quarterback Pat Mahomes is going to have many of his best weapons from 2018 returning, including tight end Travis Kelce.
Now that 2019's regular season schedules have been released, Chiefs fans can get a better feel for just how good the team will be. Vegas can also get a better feel for what should be expected from the squad.

The Chiefs are set to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in week one and they open against a team that is attempting to retool as 5.5 point favorites.
While that's as close to being a "heavy" favorite as you're going to see in the first week of the NFL, it should be pointed out that the Jags are one of the few teams that gave Pat Mahomes any trouble at all during the regular season.
Jags gave Chiefs fits
When the two teams matched up in 2018, it was looked at as a possible playoff tilt. Kansas City was 4-0 and Jacksonville was 3-1. The franchises went in decided different directions from there on out. The Chiefs won the game in easy fashion but Mahomes did throw two interceptions and no touchdowns.
The Jags were the only team to keep the Chiefs' quarterback out of the end zone all season. Blake Bortles threw four interceptions in that game. He's no longer playing for Jacksonville so the matchup is indeed going to be quite a bit different.
While that 5.5 point spread is a pretty big one for week one in the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs don't aren't the biggest favorites of the week.
The New Orleans Saints are 7.5-point favorites at home against the Houston Texans. The New England Patriots are also six-point favorites over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Kansas City near the top in wins for 2019
While the Chiefs are predicted to win their first game of the year, that's far from their only projected win. CG Technology has laid out how many games they think every team in the NFL is going to win.
The Chiefs are currently boasting the second highest projected win total. The New England Patriots are currently the league leaders with 11 wins. Kansas City, New Orleans, and the Los Angeles Rams are tied for second in the league with a projection for 10.5 wins.
Having finished at 12 wins a year ago, winning 10 or 11 could almost seem like a bit of a disappointment but when you consider a franchise that has had some rather up and down years, it's not hard to realize how nice it would be if the Kansas City Chiefs could find a way to get back to the AFC Championship at the very least. The end goal is going to be the Super Bowl of course.
