The college football bowl season came to a not so climatic ending on Monday night when the Clemson Tigers destroyed the Alabama Crimson Tide by a score of 44-16. While many experts believed in the Tigers, no one thought this game would be so one-sided. Now with the 2018-19 season officially over, fans are already counting down the days until fall and the return of pigskin action.

Clemson, Alabama favored again

To no one's surprise, the same two teams that have been battling it out the last five seasons are once again favored to win the national championship next season.

According to a Sporting News report, the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook has Alabama listed as an early 3/2 favorite to claim the NCAA football title in January of 2020. Those odds seem awfully low for a prop bet, however, you can never underestimate an angry Nick Saban squad.

Right behind the Tide is current champion Clemson Tigers at 7/2. With a great mixture of youngsters and upperclassmen on the 2019 roster, not to mention a great offseason recruiting class, these Tigers have what it takes to win back-to-back crowns.

Wolverines highest early odds under Harbaugh

The two teams battling it out right behind Alabama and Clemson are the Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines.

While Ohio State has been a force under Urban Meyer for the first time in seven years, they will have a new coach in Ryan Day and their All-Big Ten quarterback Dwayne Haskins is leaving early to enter the NFL draft.

The Bucks have been great, but making them a top favorite with so much change over seems like Las Vegas oddsmakers are tempting gamblers in on short odds of 12/1. This team should be more in the range of 20/1.

Tied with OSU at 12/1 are the Michigan Wolverines.

Coach Jim Harbaugh catches a lot of flack from fans and media in Ann Arbor, however, his four-year record of 38-14, including three 10-3 seasons, is a huge jump forward from what Michigan fans had seen the seven years prior.

With a lot of members returning from the 2018 squad and a great recruiting class on the way, this should be the year the Wolverines make the NCAA playoffs.

Vegas oddsmakers are expecting great things from Michigan as they are listed at their shortest odds ever to win an NCAA title under coach Harbaugh at 12/1.

A lot will be on the shoulder of QB Shea Patterson, but this Senior has what it takes to get the job done.

It is NCAA playoff or bust for the Wolverines in 2019, who should have enormous talent on both sides of the ball.
