A new era in professional Wrestling is underway and it's looking to feature some of the biggest talents in the business today. On Tuesday (January 8), an All Elite Wrestling rally took place to promote the AEW Double or Nothing event that's coming a bit later this year. Among the stars who showed up to take part in it was none other than Chris Jericho. Not only that, he decided to speak at the press conference in support of AEW not far from where WWE SmackDown was scheduled to take place.

Chris Jericho arrives at AEW rally

The All Elite Wrestling promotion is one which is being run by former WWE star Cody Rhodes (now just Cody) as well as brothers Matt and Nick Jackson, aka "The Young Bucks." The three men go by "The Elite" and will not only be participating in matches but also serving as the executive vice presidents for AEW.

Tony Khan will be the AEW President.

On Tuesday, they held a fan rally for their AEW Double or Nothing event. The event took place at the TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida earlier this afternoon. Longtime WWE star Chris Jericho made a grand entrance to speak at the event, making his intentions clear.

That's right, WWE fans, that's actual pyrotechnics, something missing from WWE within the past year or so. It's unknown how much of a role they'll play for AEW stars, but based on that entrance, they appear to be part of the show.

In typical Chris Jericho fashion, after his entrance, he waited out crowd chants and surveyed the landscape of the new pro wrestling promotion.

Jericho is 'all in for Elite' with others

Chris Jericho, who has been absent from all sorts of WWE events over the past year, including WWE TLC PPV and others, spoke at the podium after speeches from Cody, his wife Brandi Rhodes, Matt, and Nick, as well as other stars.

He gave his Jericho-esque yell to tell the fans, "I'm Chris Jericho, and I am all in with All Elite Wrestling!" That sent the fans into a frenzy.

He went on to detail why he decided to join the promotion. Chris Jericho went on to say, "I'm not here for the money, I already got the money. I'm here because I believe in doing something different.

I believe in doing something new, it's what I've always done my entire career." Jericho's speech is seen below in a Twitter post from earlier today.

The rally brought plenty of well-known stars out, including some of the newest signings. They included Ring of Honor's Christopher Daniels, Scorpio Sky, and Frankie Kazarian. Cody Rhodes talked about how wrestlers will receive the highest pay of any workers in the company. In addition, they revealed that AEW's All or Nothing takes place on May 25 in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the MGM Grand Arena.

Jericho isn't the only former WWE star to align with the new AEW promotion either. Neville, aka PAC, is among those who they've managed to add to the roster so far. As many WWE fans remember, he left WWE unhappy with his situation in the Cruiserweight Division.

The promotion will also have several Oriental Wrestling Entertainment stars including Takehiro Yamamura, Nobuhiko Oshima, and Takuya Onodera. In addition, several female superstars are already part of the roster. They include Brandi Rhodes, Britt Baker, and Penelope Ford. One has to wonder if they'll manage to lure AJ Styles away from WWE too.

He has been a member of the top five power rankings in the company based on his performances over the months. Those rumors about Kenny Omega heading to WWE or AEW also persist. It's possible that Y2J's move to AEW is going to sway Omega.

That said, it's been noted that Chris Jericho was moved on WWE's website to the alumni section already. Guess this means that fans won't be hearing "Break the Walls Down" at the Royal Rumble in Arizona in a few weeks. However, it will be interesting to see if Cody, Jericho, and AEW make their presence felt in AZ!
