The odds to win the 2019 Super Bowl have changed quite a bit after the first weekend of exhibition play. The second week of preseason games should be even more exciting. While many NFL experts will insist that the preseason is nothing to put stock into, Las Vegas sportsbooks think otherwise!

J-E-T-S Rise

Are the New York Jets Super Bowl bound? Well, let’s not get carried away, but after Week 1 of the 2018 NFL preseason, the Jets are one of several teams that saw their odds of winning the Super Bowl shift.

Bleacher Report indicates that the Jets were the biggest movers after one game, moving up nearly $5,000.

Now keep this in mind, the Jets held one of the worst spots on the Vegas odds board at +20000, or 200-1. After the first exhibition tilt against the Atlanta Falcons, a game that New York won 17-0, the Jets jumped from 200-1 to 150-1. While that may not sound like a big move, it actually is.

One reason the Jets made such a big jump could be that the betting public believe in rookie quarterback Sam Darnold. Darnold performed well in New York's preseason opener against the Falcons, but keep in mind, many starters didn’t play for Atlanta.

Nevertheless, starters or no starters, Darnold looked sharp. According to OddsShark, New York is one of eight teams that had their odds adjusted since last weekend's games, and some are not for the better.

Eagles, Cowboys fall

The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles dropped a bit in Vegas bookmakers odds, after last weekend, in their quest to repeat as NFL champions.

The Eagles opened at 17-2 earlier this summer, however, they have now fallen to 10-1. Replacing the Eagles as a top NFC contender? The L.A. Rams. L.A. flipped spots with Philly, rising from 10-1 to 17-2.

That move not only made the Rams the team to beat in the NFC, it put the LA Rams second overall to win the big game next February right behind the New England Patriots, who are currently listed at 13-2.

Other teams that have seen their Super Bowl odds take a turn for the worse are the Carolina Panthers, Tennessee Titans, Los Angeles Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, and Indianapolis Colts. Could Detroit land Khalil Mack and shift the odds even further?
