Recent WWE rumors have hit the internet involving a Roman Reigns injury suffered during a live WWE show. The news arrives just a few weeks after Reigns was bloodied up at "WrestleMania 34" in the main event. The "Big Dog" has another huge match coming up against "The Beast" Brock Lesnar, which has fans wondering if he'll still be good to go. Here's the latest update on Roman Reigns' injury status after the recent live event in South Africa.
Reigns' head injury
A report from Ringside News presented details of Roman Reigns' injury he suffered a few nights ago at the Cape Town show as part of WWE's South Africa tour.
The WWE star worked back-to-back nights. During the second of those shows, Reigns was involved in a match against Samoa Joe, a man who he's fought before in the ring. Towards the end of their battle in the ring, Reigns was again bust open in his head and started to pour blood down his face.
After the match, Reigns took the mic to thank the fans for coming out. He also mentioned that due to the nature of the injury he suffered during the match he wouldn't be able to greet the fans in the crowd at the WWE event. A video surfaced on Instagram and other social media showing Reigns telling this to the audience.
While it's unfortunate for the WWE fans who wanted a hug, handshake, fist bump, or selfie, it's also pretty understandable that Roman Reigns wouldn't want to get too close to the fans with blood all over him.
Reigns vs. Lesnar
As many WWE fans know, Reigns is part of the upcoming event that WWE will have in Saudi Arabia called "The Greatest Royal Rumble." The big spectacle is set for Friday with WWE Network showing the event live streaming online. Reigns will battle Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship inside a steel cage.
So far it seems that Reigns should be good to go for this match, as there haven't been any reports that his latest injury was serious. Of course, fans also realize how quickly WWE can change up their plans too, based on the Rusev vs. Undertaker match that was on and off and back on within a week's time.
It will be interesting to see if the "Big Dog" can finally capture the WWE Universal title which has eluded him all this time.
Many fans believed WWE rumors circulating for months that he would, in fact, emerge as the new champion at "WrestleMania 34" but instead he was on the losing side and bloodied up.
After the big title match this coming Friday, Reigns is set to collide with Samoa Joe once again. The brand new "SmackDown Live" superstar has challenged Roman to a match at WWE's "Backlash 2018" PPV.
