LeBron James continues to outdo himself in his 15th season in the league and still has his name above all others when talking about being the best basketball player in the world. It’s crazy to see a player in his 15th season, with all the miles on him, still dominate the league the way he is doing so.
So far, through 60 games in the 2017-18 NBA season, King James is averaging an insane 26.7 points, 9.0 assists, 8.4 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game, doing so playing all 60 games of the Cavaliers season With 22 games left in the season, with a new squad on his hands, after the huge trade deadline, LeBron is looking to play in all remaining games of the season to do his best to help the new young guys gain as much chemistry as they can with the team heading into the playoffs.
Despite taking very few breaks throughout his career, James has never played in all 82 NBA games for a season, and if he can do so this season, it will be the first time in his career.
After the Cleveland Cavaliers 129-123 victory over the Brooklyn Nets in their last game, King James was alerted by Fox Sports Ohio journalist Allie Clifton that he had become the first player to reach 30,000 career points with 8,000 career rebounds and 8,000 career assists, an accomplishment that no other player has come close to. LeBron had a few things to say.
LeBron knows his place in history
LeBron James finished his last game with 31 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists, on his 11th assist he became the first player in NBA history to reach 30k points, 8k rebounds, 8k assists.
Not only that but during this game, he secured a triple-double average for the month of February, something he has now also achieved for the first time in his storied career. When asked about achieving all these feats, LeBron said:
“I’ve always prided myself on being a triple threat player… I don’t like to be compared to anybody I feel like I’m a one of a kind player.
I’m a player that this league has never seen before, and I take a lot of pride in that, and I wanna continue that in the near future.”
LeBron is clearly very appreciative of the position he is in, coming from poverty and hardships as a young boy. And to be doing what he is doing today, breaking all kinds of records and doing so at the age he is right now is truly incredible.
LeBron takes to Instagram
LeBron James celebrated his 30k-8k-8k milestone on Instagram in a post he expressed where he came from and how lucky he is to be in the position he is in today. It’s a testament to his great work ethic and his desire to keep getting better and better at the game of basketball, as he continues to chase the world renowned ‘greatest of all time’, Michael Jeffrey Jordan.
As February comes to an end, LeBron James will be looking to win his seventh straight player of the month award in the month of February, dating back to the 2011-12 NBA season.
