Chelsea will face off against West Ham at 12:30 at the London stadium. The last time these two sides met Chelsea were run-out 2-1 winners from a later strike from Diego Coster, but West Ham came out on top by the same score in a League Cup tie at the London Stadium.

Chelsea performance

Chelsea has been in a rich vein of form recently and as shown, they have not given up on the title race as yet. They were very impressive against Newcastle last week and also against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday 5 December at the bridge. The link-up play between Hazard and Alvaro Morata has been great for Chelsea and the return of Victor Moses has brought back a bit of power and pace on the wing for the blues.

Chelsea have won six of their last seven league games and conceded just four goals in their last seven in all competitions. Their last defeat was in October at the hands of Crystal Palace. They have improved massively since that game.

Chelsea may choose to use the same team that beat Newcastle on the weekend, and with the matches to come, Chelsea will feel they got a good chance of catching Manchester city. With them being in action against Manchester United any slip-up between those two could see Chelsea cutting the lead at the top of the table.

West Ham performance

West ham has been extremely poor in form this season, totaling only 10 points from their last 15 games - the lowest for them at this stage in the Premier League.

They are without a win in eight league games, including five defeats. They have scored only six goals during that run. West Ham looks a more disciplined and fitter team under David Moyes but they have much more to do if they are to beat a strong Chelsea team even on home ground.

Head to head, West Ham has only beaten Chelsea twice and lost 16 times in their last 22 Premier League meetings.

If West Ham can refine the form that saw them beating Chelsea 2-1 in the League Cup, then Chelsea will have a match on their hands.

The Hammers are currently in the drop zone and they have so far only taken one point from a possible 12 since David Moyes.

Team news

West Ham United forward. Javier Hernandez. has been back in training for a week now and could possibly be involved against Chelsea after suffering a hamstring injury.

Winston Reid is also nursing a similar problem and is unsure for the Chelsea clash.

Chelsea's David Luiz is still out of the Chelsea team due to a knee injury

Prediction

Chelsea should walk away winners of this game, 2-0, unless West Ham come to that game with the intention and determination and the fight they are currently lacking at the moment.
