Carson Wentz continues to make history week after week in the national football league. This has been the first time since 1950 that an Eagles quarterback has had such a regular season start. Walking into this game Carson Wentz was amongst the top tier of quarterbacks. Before week nine, Wentz had already accumulated nineteen passing touchdowns with only five interceptions, maintaining a quarterback rating of one hundred and one. When the Eagles dismantled the Denver Broncos it was made clear who the best team in the NFL currently is. Philadelphia did not stop until the game was finished.
The Eagles' offense was able to put a “fifty-burger” on Von Miller and his team's defensive efforts.
Fly Eagles, fly!
It was an offensive affair on Sunday as the Philadelphia Eagles showed their home fans love as they defeated the visiting Denver Broncos. In a game where a blowout would not be surprising, Carson Wentz decided to let things fly! His four touchdowns helped propel the Eagles on their flight to regular season excellence. Their new acquisition Jay Ajayi was able to produce big for the birds in his first appearance in the black green and black home jersey. He finished the day with seventy-seven yards rushing on eight carries. Ajayi and rookie running back Corey Clement ran behind their powerful offensive line for a combined total of three touchdowns on the ground.
The double-headed backfield monster was aided by an aerial attack led by Alshon Jeffery who had two receiving touchdowns during the afternoon. Lincoln Financial Field was electric as the Eagles' fans cheered their team on in a victory that seemed to be a breeze.
The flight ahead
What more can fans say about The Philadelphia Eagles?
It was clear that when they started the pre-season that they were going to make moves in the front office that would help improve the team. The improvements have been phenomenal. Philadelphia is currently one of the most feared teams in the NFL as they hold the NFC East on lockdown. Their nine and one start has surely been strong and unshaken.
Next week Philadelphia has a bye week which they will use to start planning for post-season play. With a break in the action during the middle of the season, it is hard to tell what improvements the Eagles will make to their game. One thing is for certain, the Eagles will be a Playoff favorite and they are the team to beat! They are a team to watch moving forward.
