The Houston Astros are champions of the baseball world! After a thrilling seven-game series, the Astros won the seventh and deciding game against the Los Angeles Dodgers by the final of 5-1, thus claiming their first World Series title in franchise history. The city of Houston is going to celebrate big time Friday afternoon as hundreds of thousands of fans are expected to jam the streets to honor the Astros with a ticker tape parade.

The last time Houston was crowned a city of champions in the sporting world was way back in 1995 when the Houston Rockets won their second consecutive NBA title.

Now 22 years later, the Houston faithful can celebrate the first title for the boys of summer. According to ABC13 in Houston, Texas, the Astros' 2017 World Series championship parade is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m. local time on Friday, November 3.

For locals who are planning on attending the parade first hand, all the festivities are expected to start at the corner of Smith and Lamar Streets, just a couple blocks away from Sam Houston Park. From there, the parade will then continue north on Smith Street before heading downtown.
