Game 5 preview

It's been a back and forth series so far with Los Angeles claiming Game 1 in Minnesota 85-84 and the Lynx taking Game 2 70-68 on their home court.

The series moved back to L.A., where it looked like the Sparks were headed towards their second-straight championship. They defeated Minnesota 75-64 in Game 3 to go up 2-1 in the series.

However, the Lynx stormed right back with their own 11-point victory in Game 4. The WNBA MVP Sylvia Fowles had 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Rebekkah Brunson added 18 points and 13 rebounds. Maya Moore chipped in 15 points to assist her team in the victory. That tied up the series at 2-2 and sent it back to Minnesota for a decisive fifth game.

The WNBA Finals went five games last year as well, but the story there was that the Los Angeles Sparks won Game 5 by the slimmest of margins with a one-point win to capture the title.

It was praised as one of the best WNBA Finals series in the history of the league. The game came down to a final shot with about three seconds remaining and league MVP Nneka Ogwumike hit the game-winner for the 77-76 victory.

Tonight's game odds, compiled by Odds Shark, have the home team as the favorites. The Minnesota Lynx are favored by five points on the point spread and at -220 to -250 on the money line at various sportsbooks.

The L.A. Sparks are +185 to +200 underdogs. For the over/under total, bettors are looking at 154 total points for tonight's game.
