The game between the Golden State Warriors and Washington Wizards got very intense during the last seconds of the second quarter after Bradley Beal grabbed the neck of Draymond Green. The incident started when the Wizards shooting-guard, Bradley Beal, drove toward the basket and was blocked by the Warriors forward, Draymond Green, with 23 seconds remaining in the second quarter.

The Wizards maintained possession but missed the shot, then Beal suddenly smacked Green in the face from behind. Green turned around and grabbed Beal and the two got tangled and wrestled each other, and eventually fell to the hardwood. The officials, guards, their teammates and even fans rushed to help untangled the two players before reviewing what happened. Draymond Green escaped with a ripped jersey.

Draymond Green had a technical foul early in the second quarter and got ejected at the end of the quarter. Brandon Beal also got ejected from the game. Further discipline—whether it's in the form of fines or suspensions—could be on the way once the league office reviews the altercation over the weekend.

Draymond Green is disappointed

The officials decided to eject both players from the game but Green and the Warriors were disappointed. It was seen during the replay that Beal who was clearly unprovoked grabbed Green from behind. Green told Cris Haynes of ESPN that, “I don’t know what I’m supposed to do if someone hits you twice. Man, you’re taught as a kid not to allow that. What was I supposed to do?” When asked if there was a history with Beal, Green answered to ESPN, “There’s a history with me and the NBA. That’s the only reason I can think of why I was ejected.”

Meanwhile, Bradley Beal said, "Things were said. Things were done throughout the whole game. But I'm not going to go into detail; I’ll do that with the league tomorrow."

The Golden State Warriors still knocked the Washington Wizards despite Green being ejected from the game.
