In the past two games for the Orlando Magic in NBA preseason, it appears Aaron Gordon is on a mission. The former NBA Slam Dunk contest star and No. 4 pick in the NBA Draft several years ago has now shown he's not just a one-dimensional player. His dunks may be dazzling but he's now showing the ability to lead the scoring assault in Orlando victories. The latest came with a three-point win over in-state rivals the Miami Heat. Here's the latest game recap on how the Orlando Magic defeated the Miami Heat 93-90.

In tonight's game, the Orlando Magic moved ahead 28-22 after just the first quarter, but Miami was able to win the second 32-21 and take a 54-49 lead into halftime.

Miami outscored the home team again in the third but only by two points before the Magic closed out the fourth with a 25-15 quarter. That ended with a close three-point victory by Orlando to give them their second win of the exhibition season.

Aaron Gordon shot 9-for-14 in tonight's game and ended up with 19 points. He also pulled down six rebounds in the effort. Terrence Ross was the only other double-digit scorer for the starters as he finished with 11, while Jonathan Isaac scored 13 points to go with five rebounds off the bench. Fellow bench player Jonathan Simmons, formerly of the Spurs, had 12 points and five rebounds.

For the Miami Heat, three of their starters ended up with key contributions in the losing effort.

In particular, Hassan Whiteside had another monster game. He scored 17 points and snatched 15 rebounds. Josh Richardson shot 7-for-13 and finished with 19 points, while Dion Waiters had 17 points on 5-for-9 shooting. Star player Goran Dragic sat out to rest for the latest exhibition game.

As a team, though, the Miami Heat shot a disappointing 36.4 percent overall and 28.1 percent from downtown.

The Orlando Magic knocked down shots at a rate of 46.3 percent overall and just 25 percent of the threes they shot. The Magic also had 54 rebounds compared to just 41 for the visitors.

The Miami Heat fall to 1-2 overall on the preseason with a 0-2 record on the road. Miami plays their next game on the NBA preseason slate when they host the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night at 7:30 p.m.
