Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin, Charlotte Flair, The New Day, Randy Orton and Bobby Roode were in action on last week's Smackdown Live event. Kevin Owens returned to Smackdown and opened the show and asked Shane Mcmahon to come to the ring and assured him that he is not afraid of Vince McMahon's son. Instead, Owens was confronted by former friend and now bitter enemy Sami Zayn, who attempted to talk some sense into Owens but Owens did not understand Daniel Bryan fixed a match between them for the main event.

Also, Baron Corbin defeated Tye Dillinger and will face AJ Styles at "Hell In A Cell" for the United States championship.

Shinsuke Nakamura taught a lesson to Jinder Mahal and The Singh Brothers by attacking them in the ring when they were making fun of Nakamura.

The New Day laid down a huge challenge to The Usos. Randy Orton interrupted Rusev's celebrations in the ring. The number one contender for the Smackdown women's title Charlotte Flair defeated Carmella and was confronted by Smackdown Live women's champion Natalya. Bobby Rude interrupted Dolph Ziggler and laid down a challenge for a match at the next PPV. Everyone in the WWE universe is now waiting for the next Smackdown Live's pay-per-view "Hell in a Cell."

WWE Hell in a Cell 2017: Matches

The most important match of all matches is the Hell in a Cell grudge match between Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon after Owens attacked Vince McMahon and left him bleeding.

Also on deck for this show is a WWE Championship rematch between Jinder Mahal and Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles defending his United States Championship against Baron Corbin and even a tag team Hell in a Cell matchup between The New Day and The Usos. Rusev will engage with Randy Orton and a brand newcomer in Smackdown Live, Bobby Roode gets his first main roster pay-per-view match against Dolph Ziggler.

History of this event

It was "The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels" at Bad Blood which saw the debut of the "Big Red Monster Kane." Batista and Triple H battled inside a Hell in a Cell match at "Vengeance 2005" where Triple H tried to use the sledgehammer, but Batista connected with the Batista Bomb to retain his title.

Triple H and Chris Jericho settled their rivalry inside Hell in a Cell at "Judgement Day 2002".

There was a bloody fight between friends as Triple H and Shawn Michaels settled within the confines of Hell in a Cell at "Bad Blood 2004". DX entered the infamous Hell in a Cell to take on The McMahons and Big Show in a memorable match at "Unforgiven 2006."
