NBA game preview
The Atlanta Hawks arrive at Sunday's meeting with the Nets at a record of 1-1 overall and 1-1 on the road. They've yet to play in a home opener so far this season so they'll be looking forward to getting back to the ATL. They are coming off a loss against the Hornets in Charlotte, where Dwight Howard got to exact some revenge on the latest team that traded him in the offseason. Schroder had 25 points in the loss and currently leads the team in scoring with 26.5 per contest. He's also leading in assists at six per game, with rookie John Collins' 57.1 percent field goal rate leading that category.
For the Brooklyn Nets, the team suffered a major loss when guard Jeremy Lin went down with an early injury.
He's now out of action for the rest of the season while D'Angelo Russell will be the team's main star. Russell is currently leading the Nets with 23.5 points per game and 5.5 assists per game, while power forward Trevor Booker has averaged 10.5 rebounds per game to lead in that category. Brooklyn's only win this season came against the Orlando Magic, 126-121 in their previous game.
Matchup odds for today's game indicate it's a close one, as the home team is favored by 1.5 points on the spread. The Nets are moneyline favorites of -125 while the Hawks are +105 underdogs. The over/under points total is 220.5 points for the complete game.
