The upcoming match between Roman Reigns and John Cena at No Mercy is off to an interesting start. Cena and Roman are the two most polarizing wrestlers in the WWE, with just as many people who hate them as love them. However, the feud between Reigns and John has started off with two huge promos that have fans solidly in the corner of Cena.

Despite that, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reported that Vince McMahon is hands on with this feud and plans on using it to make Roman Reigns the biggest babyface in the WWE.

John Cena has owned Roman Reigns so far

In the very first promo between John Cena and Roman Reigns, Cena completely owned Roman in the back-and-forth between the two WWE superstars. Roman claimed he had no reason to fight Cena, which is not the actions of a babyface wrestler. Cena then tore Reigns apart for being a "John Cena knock off." He also made fun of Reigns for screwing up his part of the promo and then made it clear that he is better part time than Roman ever could be full time.

The second meeting came this week after John Cena won a hard fought match with Jason Jordan. Much like Cena has done over the last two years, Cena made Jordan look like a million bucks in the match.

After the win, Roman Reigns came down and buried Jason Jordan by saying that John Cena is nowhere near as great as he thinks if he had that much trouble with a rookie.

John then ripped Roman for being egotistical, arrogant, and entitled. By the time Cena was finished tearing Reigns apart again in this promo, almost all the fans were cheering for Cena. It ended with Roman challenging John to attack him and when he refused, Roman called him "all talk" and walked out.

Roman Reigns WWE future

It is clear to maybe everyone but Vince McMahon that Roman Reigns is doing everything a heel would do in this feud. He is acting like he is above a match with the 16-time WWE world champion. He listens to John Cena make a lot of accurate assessments about his character and responds by trying to goad Cena into attacking him outside of an official match.

How anyone thinks that this is how a good guy should act is puzzling.

However, it is beyond clear what Vince McMahon has planned for this feud. Roman Reigns will beat John Cena and prove to be the top star in the WWE. Then, after losing, Cena will give in and acknowledge that Roman has earned his respect and then fans will decide to give Reigns a chance.

However, the chances of that happening are slim. Fans will see it coming and it will never seem real coming from John Cena. Roman Reigns is almost dead-in-the-water as a babyface and everyone seems to know that except the people running the WWE.
