WWE news: AJ Styles says he can still improve in his wrestling career

AJ Styles was always considered the best professional wrestler to never make the move to the WWE. For many years, Styles was the best wrestler in TNA Impact Wrestling, a huge star for Ring of Honor Wrestling, and then moved over to become the biggest American name in New Japan Professional Wrestling.

Finally, in January 2016, AJ Styles made his WWE debut when he entered the Royal Rumble and was the WWE world champion in less than a year.

Now, with almost two years in the company under his belt, most fans consider Styles the best pure wrestler in the company but he still feels that he can improve and get even better.

"I have room for improvement. Look at a talent like Kazuchika Okada; he is one of the best wrestlers in the world and the kid is not even 30," AJ Styles said of the New Japan Pro Wrestling star in an interview with the Hindustan Times. "He has won the IWGP championship at such a young age and when you see a talent like that, it inspires you to work harder.”

AJ Styles got his start in wrestling in WCW at the end of their existence.

Instead of signing on with the WWE, Styles wrestled independently in the NWA before he finally signed with both TNA Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor when the two companies first opened.

In Ring of Honor, AJ Styles was the company's first ROH Pure Champion and also held their tag team titles. Styles was even better in TNA Impact Wrestling where, for a time, he was the biggest name in the entire company. AJ was a five-time world champion, six-time X-Division champion, and six-time tag team champion.

When AJ Styles finally left TNA Impact Wrestling, he was getting older and chose to go to New Japan Professional Wrestling instead of the WWE. While there, AJ won the IWGP world title, a belt held by Brock Lesnar before him.

He ended up holding that title twice.

Then, AJ Styles came to the WWE. In less than two years, Styles has held the WWE world title once and the U.S. title twice. Still, AJ wants more.

Kazuchika Okada

One of the big names that fans mentioned, when AJ Styles left New Japan Professional Wrestling for the WWE, was Kenny Omega, the American star who took Styles place as the American star in NJPW. However, the man who took over as the top star in New Japan was not Omega but was instead Kazuchika Okada.

Kazuchika Okada, a Japanese superstar, is 11 years younger than AJ Styles and has already held the IWGP title four times. He is having five-star matches and proves that it is never good to just coast by on what you have done because there is always someone younger and more talented waiting to take your place.
