The 2017 WNBA Playoffs are officially here! On Wednesday night, fans will see the first round begin with both matchups receiving national television treatment. In the first game of the night, it will be Skylar Diggins-Smith and the Dallas Wings taking on Elena Delle Donne and the Washington Mystics. Here's the latest matchup preview including game time, channels, playoff matchup odds, and how to watch the Wings vs. Mystics live stream online.
Game preview
The Dallas Wings are the No. 7 seed and will be on the road for tonight's first game of the WNBA Playoffs.
They hold a 6-11 record away from home this season but have defeated the Mystics twice at the Verizon Center. They most recently defeated Washington on August 26th with Skylar Diggins-Smith scoring 20 points on 6-of-15 shooting. Karima Christmas-Kelly added 12 points on 4-for-7 shooting, while Dallas shot 44.4 percent for the game and had three fewer turnovers than the Mystics.
The Washington Mystics are the No. 6 seed and are hosting tonight's Playoff Game with it being their first postseason matchup featuring offseason acquisition Elena Delle Donne. The All-Star guard missed a good number of games due to an injury that kept her sidelined. However, she returned for the past five games of the regular season.
The team struggled a bit with Delle Donne back, but she finally helped them grab a 110-106 overtime win against the Seattle Storm. Delle Done shot 11-for-18 and finished with 37 points in that game. The team suffered a loss in their final game of the regular season to the Minnesota Lynx heading toward tonight's playoff matchup.
Tonight's WNBA game is a "win or go home" situation. The winner of the matchup moves on to take on either the New York Liberty or Connecticut Sun this coming Sunday on the road. That matchup will be determined based on which seeds emerge from tonight's games. Odds makers at various sportsbooks have the home team as favorites at 6.5 points or -300 on the moneyline.
The visitors are priced at +240, while the over/under is 171 points for the complete game.
