HBO is back with “True Detective” season 3. This one will revolve around heart-wrenching crimes taking place in the small town of Ozarks. Directed by Jeremy Saulnier and Nic Pizzolatto, the lead for this season is Wayne Hays.
According to a report by The Mashable, Wayne Hays will be seen playing the role of Northwest Arkansas’ state police detective. The filming procedure of season 3 has already begun, but the showrunners haven’t pinned down any specific date for airing as of yet. HBO’s President of Programming, Casey Bloys is happy with the hiring.
He was recorded as saying that they are very excited to have all the three creative artists onboard. Nic Pizzolatto, who is known to have written many good scripts before, is the sole writer for “True Detective” season 3. He had been assisted by David Milch while writing the fourth episode of the latest season. As noted by Deadline, the show gained major prominence through its very first season.
Cast of the show
With Oscar-winning stars such as Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, ratings for “True Detective” sure went sky-rocketing. The second season witnessed Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch’s talents. There are a lot of buyers for “True Detective” season 3 this time. The list of executive producers includes Richard Brown, Scott Stephens, Bard Dorros, Harrelson, Steve Golin and Cary Joji Fukunaga.
Fans of the show were kept under anticipation for long, as the network was skeptical about giving the green light for yet another season. According to a report by Variety, one of the main reasons why the show’s renewal was delayed is because HBO couldn’t find another director that could assist Pizzolatto. After much consideration, Green Room director Jeremy Saulnier was believed to be the perfect match, and everything else followed.
In early June, it was reported that roughly five scripts for “True Detective” season 3 had been completed.
Number of episodes are not confirmed
It remains to be seen exactly how many episodes will be released with the show. For those who don’t know, the first two seasons consisted of eight episodes each. According to a report by AV Club, the main theme of the show is based around the Ozarks.
Coincidently, there is another show, titled “Ozark” produced by Netflix that specifically revolved around the same place. Additional information is expected to be made available with time, but it doesn’t appear like the third season will premiere this year.
