The Nebraska football team had a number of high profile recruits into Lincoln over the weekend and while reports are circulating that all enjoyed their visit, one recruit in particular apparently fell in love with Lincoln. The Huskers have been working hard to get as many top of the line wide receiver recruits in the 2018 class as possible and it looks as though yet another 4-star receiver is close to pulling the trigger.
Isaah Crocker has been a big target of the Cornhuskers since he announced he would be taking an official visit back in May. During that announcement he wasn’t clear exactly when he would be coming to Lincoln.
Last week, he let the world know he would indeed be seeing the Nebraska football team and what they have to offer during the Arkansas State game. According to numerous reports, Crocker loved everything that he saw.
Crocker told Rivals that he didn’t want to leave Lincoln and that he felt “really comfortable” around the Nebraska football team. It appears the talented wide receiver was as close to pulling the trigger as any recruits have been during their visits to the school. The question now is whether or not the Huskers can get Crocker to pull the trigger and become a member of a class that has been falling a bit in the eyes of some recruiting experts.
Nebraska football home atmosphere a selling point
While the Arkansas State game didn’t go according to plan, especially when it came to the defense, there was plenty that Crocker could take away that was a positive. Among those positives was an offense that actually has a quarterback who could go through his progressions and hit receivers on the run.
The other aspect that Crocker could certainly soak up was the atmosphere that surrounded the stadium. Opening day for the Huskers is always a rather raucous affair and Saturday was no different. The stadium seemed to be pretty loud and was of course sold out. Seeing that many fans coming out to see a game against a relatively lowly opponent had to be a pretty good indicator.
Crocker would be big get
If the Nebraska football team does manage to get Crocker into the fold, it would be a rather big steal for the Cornhuskers. Among the schools going after the California receiver are perennial powers like Oregon, UCLA and Notre Dame. The biggest opponent standing in the way of the Cornhuskers getting the 4-star commit has to be Alabama, which definitely had an impressive showing of their own.
