The Utah Jazz lost an important piece this offseason when Gordon Hayward decided to join the Boston Celtics. Hayward was their best player and the franchise's star. The good news for the Jazz is they still have quality guys who can step up to fill the gap Hayward left. One of them is Rodney Hood, who is reportedly negotiating with the organization for an extension. The shooting guard (selected 23rd overall in 2014) is still under his rookie contract but could ink an extension deal from the team before the deadline on October 16 (6 p.m.

ET).

It is likely that Hood gets that extension from the Jazz. As mentioned, he is one of the quality players currently on Utah's roster. Last season, in 59 games (55 starts), the 24-year-old averaged 12.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists, in 27 minutes of action per outing. He was the fourth-leading scorer for the Jazz just behind Hayward, George Hill, and Rudy Gobert.

Injury-prone

The only issue with Hood is that he is a bit fragile. According to ESPN, in his young three-season career in the NBA, he missed a total of 58 regular season games. The most he played in a season was during his second year with the Jazz when he had 79 appearances (all starts).

During this stretch, the ex-Duke Blue Devils recorded career-highs in scoring (14.5 ppg) and assists (2.7 apg).

Bucks likely re-signing Terry

The Milwaukee Bucks are expected to bring back a veteran to their roster. In a tweet, the Racine Journal Times' Gery Woelfel suggested that the "next move" for the squad after waiving Spencer Hawes is re-signing Jason Terry. The one-time NBA champion spent his first year with the Bucks in the 2016-17 season. In 74 games, he had averages of 4.1 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per contest.

Terry was no longer the prolific scorer he was once, but he had a crucial role in Milwaukee. The 34-year-old became the veteran leader on a team loaded with developing prospects.

Back in June, Terry's agent stated that he wants to continue suiting up for the Bucks and that may just happen. The only question if he secures a contract is, will there still be playing time for him? There is a strong possibility that he is going to be the last option at shooting guard. Tony Snell will take the starting duties, while Rashad Vaughn and Sterling Brown are his backups. In the previous season, despite the youth at the No. 2 position, Terry managed to be on the floor for 18 minutes a game.
