On Sunday afternoon, the Oakland Raiders visited the Tennessee Titans in a Week 1 NFL matchup. The game boasted two of the emerging stars at the quarterback position with Oakland's Derek Carr and Tennessee's Marcus Mariota. It also featured the debut of Marshawn Lynch for his new team, the Raiders. In the first quarter of today's game, the two teams were able to match one another with touchdowns.

After Derek Carr tossed an eight-yard touchdown to Amari Cooper earlier, Marcus Mariota scored on a 10-yard run with under seven minutes to go in the quarter. Oakland added two field goals in the second quarter with Tennessee getting just one. The two teams matched field goals in the third quarter before Oakland took the fourth 10-3. In that final quarter, Carr threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Seth Roberts to help seal the victory.

In the 26-16 win, the Oakland Raiders received 262 yards and two touchdowns from Derek Carr who threw 22-of-32 passes for the day.

Carr was sacked twice in the game with no interceptions. Among his targets today were Amari Cooper who finished with 62 yards and Michael Crabtree who finished with 83 yards on six catches. Cooper had one of the team's receiving TDs as did Seth Roberts. Brand new Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch had 18 carries for the game and 76 yards on the ground.

For the Tennessee Titans, Marcus Mariota threw 25-of-41 passes for 256 yards and no touchdowns. He was sacked once for a loss of just a yard. Marietta did have three rushing attempts for 26 yards and a touchdown in his effort. In fact, the Titans quarterback had the team's only touchdown of the game, as the rest of the points came from Ryan Succop and his three field goals.

DeMarco Murray had 12 carries for 44 yards in the game, while Delanie Walker and Richard Matthews each finished with 70 yards or more receiving. Corey Davis also had 69 yards for the receiving core in today's loss.

Today's win gives the Oakland Raiders a 1-0 start to their season. Next on their schedule will be a matchup on next Sunday at home when they host the New York Jets beginning at 4:05 p.m. Eastern Time.

The Tennessee Titans start out 0-1 for their latest campaign but there's still plenty of season to go. Next for Mariota and the Titans will be a road game at Jacksonville. They game against the Jaguars is next Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern Time.
