What a week it was in college football! The 2017 Week 3 NCAA football rankings have been released, and the biggest winners in the latest Top 25 poll are definitely the Oklahoma Sooners. Oklahoma did something not many teams have done during the Urban Meyer era at Ohio State, and that's head down to the Horseshoe in Columbus, Ohio and defeat the Buckeyes. Not just beat 'em but put the smackdown on them.

Oklahoma jumps up to number 2 in the latest AP poll
In a game that can definitely be described as a slugfest between two strong defenses, the Sooners eventually broke through in the second half and took control.
The game headed to halftime as a 3-3 tie and it looked at that point that the first team to score a touchdown would clearly be in control. Well, the Buckeyes scored that touchdown to take a 10-3 lead in the third quarter, however, it was all Sooners from that point on as Oklahoma rolled to a 31-16 win. The victory helped the Sooners jump up from the No. 5 position all the way up to No. 2 in the country.
The new Top 10 is Big Ten heavy
The AP Top 10 has quite a different look than it did just a week ago today. One thing that hasn't changed is the top spot. The Alabama Crimson Tide held on to the No. 1 position after rolling to their second straight victory on Saturday. The Tide rolled over Fresno State by the final score of 41-10.
With Oklahoma moving up to the No. 2 spot and Clemson holding on to the third spot, the rest of the Top 10 is totally different than it was one week ago. While the SEC gets all the credit for being the toughest conference, and for good reason, the Big Ten has quietly been strengthing over the past three seasons and that is showing in the latest Top 25 rankings.
The Penn State Nittany Lions, Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes and Wisconsin Badgers are all in the Top 10 in the latest football rankings.
Entering the Top 25 for the first time this season are the UCLA Bruins, who are currently ranked at No. 25. The only team to leave the rankings this week was Notre Dame. The Irish fell out of the Top 25 rankings following their 20-19 loss at home to the Georgia Bulldogs.
