The 2017 Week 4 NCAA football rankings have been released and the Clemson Tigers have officially put every team in college football on alert. The defending national champions have picked up where they left off last season, and they may actually be better than they were during their championship run last season, especially on defense.
Clemson rolls over Jackson, Louisville
Deshaun Watson may go down as the best quarterback in Clemson history. Most Tigers fans wouldn’t argue that. However, Kelly Bryant showed last night that he is more than ready for the bright lights.
Bryant, in his first year as the starting QB, completed 22 of 32 passes for 316 yards -- all of which are career highs. Bryant also rushed for 26 yards including a key 8-yard touchdown scramble that got the Tigers rolling early on.
On the other side of the field, Louisville star quarterback Lamar Jackson finished with some impressive stats, but many of the numbers occurred in the fourth quarter when the Cardinals trailed by three scores. The reigning Heisman winner passed for 317 yards and three touchdowns, but most of that came when the core was a bit out of hand.
Sure, it is still very early in the season, but the Tigers have the look of a team that is ready to repeat as national champs.
