Two teams trying to solidify spots in the MLB Playoffs will meet up on Sunday night in a historic rivalry. It's the Boston Red Sox and new york yankees from Yankee Stadium in NY. While Boston is leading the division and looks like they'll possibly secure a playoff spot, the New York Yankees are leading the AL Wild Card race. Here's the latest MLB game preview with matchup odds, Game Time, TV channels and how to watch the Red Sox vs. Yankees live streaming online for Sunday.
Boston vs. New York
At 66-50 overall, the Boston Red Sox currently lead the American League East by 4.5 games over New York.
Boston is 9-1 over their last 10 games, with their most recent game a 10-5 victory over this Yankees squad. Rookie Andrew Benintendi hit two home runs in the win and picked up six total RBIs to lead the way. That helped his team bounce back from their previous loss to the Yankees on the road. Tonight the Red Sox will send one of their aces to the mound as Chris Sale (14-4, 2.57 ERA) gets the start, but he's been winless in his two starts for the team this season against NY.
On the opposing side, the New York Yankees will send Jordan Montgomery to the mound. He sports a 7-6 record and 4.05 ERA. Montgomery gets the start over CC Sabathia who has a right knee inflammation which placed him on the disabled list.
Of note, Montgomery suffered an injury during batting practice ahead of this past Saturday's game. The Yankees pitcher was signing some autographs as Red Sox batters were practicing and a ball struck him in his ear. However, the NY Yankees later said their pitcher was fine and suffered a minor cut on his ear.
The odds for Sunday night's MLB game favor the visiting Red Sox.
They're currently priced on the moneyline at -150 to -160 depending on the sports book. The Yankees are anywhere from +135 to +145. Tonight's over/under runs total is at 7.5 runs for the game, per Odds Shark.
