Teammate Jacoby Ellsbury also added three RBIs on the day on his two hits. Also coming up big for the team was pitcher Luis Severino who had nine strikeouts over 6.2 innings of pitching. Severino picked up the win to move to 9-4 on the season as he gave up just the one home run to Michael Brantley today.

The Cleveland Indians were limited to just two hits for the day including Brantley's ninth home run in the first inning. Edwin Incarnation recorded the only other hit for the day. Coming up with the loss for the pitching staff was Carlos Carrasco who struck out six batters but gave up five runs over a bit more than five innings.

The win by the NY Yankees' today gave the two teams a 2-2 split over their recent four-game series. Right now, the Yankees and the Royals are the top two wild card teams in the American League, with Tampa Bay and Seattle each about three to four games behind them.
