Lazio rescinded the loan offer from Birmingham City for Ravel Morrison, but the two clubs will continue to talk. Elsewhere, Young Schalke star Max Meyer refused to rule out a summer move amid interest from Tottenham, Liverpool, and Arsenal, while Sheffield Wednesday want to boost their prospects and return to the Premier League by bringing in former Arsenal defender Johan Djourou. Here's a complete report of these soccer transfer updates:
Lazio set to loan out Ravel Morrison
According to Daily Mail, Birmingham City Football Club have been keeping close tabs on Ravel Morrison and SSS Lazio have now turned down an initial opening offer for the 24-year-old.
However, the report goes on to “state” that discussion will continue between the both clubs and an agreement over a possible loan deal for the Lazio man is “hopeful” of being settled. Ravel Morrison has already played for Birmingham City Football Club in a loan stint in 2013, and he may return to the Midlands club this summer for one more spell. Ravel Morrison joined SSS Lazio in 2015 but rarely featured for the club before returning to England with QPR on loan spell in January 2017, where he made just 5 Championship appearances for the club.
Meyer refused to rule out potential summer transfer
According to Mirror, Max Meyer has ruled out Schalke's effort to extend his current deal with the club, and he's now into the last year of his contract with the German club.
Meyer, 19, fully understands that shutting the door to a possible move while the summer window is open is not something he can do once the opportunity comes. Max Meyer told reporters: “It is not the case that I want to leave come what may. As things stand I will stay, but you can never say for sure when you've just one year left on your deal and the transfer window is still open for the next coming weeks.” Max Meyer has been linked with a move to the Premier League following his fine performances last term.
The German youngster has earned a total of 164 appearances for Schalke 04, bagging twenty-one goals and setting up twenty-three assists.
Sheffield Wednesday wants Johan Djourou
English Championship club Sheffield Wednesday want to sign Johan Djourou, and they're working really hard to push through a deal for the Swiss international, according to Inside Futbol.
Johan Djourou is a free agent following his release from Bundesliga club Hamburg SV this summer and it has been speculated the center back is in close talks with Sheffield officials, though the Owls boss Carlos Carvalhal has strenuously refused to confirm or rule out these claims. The Owls suffered a disappointing playoff final last term and are confident of signing up the former Arsenal man this summer window to boost their chances of gaining promotion to the EPL
