The biggest news in the footballing world is that Brazilian superstar has left FC Barcelona for French team Paris Saint Germain. While this move means that FC Barcelona received over 200 million euros, it also means that the Spanish giants need to buy someone to replace Neymar. At the moment it looks like Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele are the two options that the Spanish side are looking at.
Philippe Coutinho to FC Barcelona?
Barcelona has stated many times that they are interested in the Liverpool attacking midfielder. That being said, Liverpool has been very clear in saying that the Brazilian is not for sale.
Reports in Spain are suggesting that Barcelona is offering a bid in excess of 100 million euros. This is a lot of money and if such a bid was to be made, Liverpool might find it hard to reject. Coutinho has stated that he is happy at Liverpool but with the amount of money that Barcelona is offering, it might be enough to persuade the Brazilian to leave the English club.
Ousmane Dembele to FC Barcelona?
Ousmane Dembele has been very impressive at Borussia Dortmund for the past few years and the French superstar has attracted the attention from some of the best teams in Europe. Dembele is quick, agile and young meaning he would fill Neymar's role perfectly. With that in mind, Borussia Dortmund has also stated that Dembele is not for sale.
This move seems less likely than that of Coutinho since Dortmund are in less need of money at the moment. Barcelona might tempt the German side with a massive bid but this move seems unlikely due to Borussia Dortmund's stance of the player.
Other options for FC Barcelona
While Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho are on the top of Barcelona's shopping list, there are many other options which the club is reportedly looking at.
Chelsea's Eden Hazard, Paris Saint Germain's Julian Draxler, Tottenham's Dele Ali and Juventus's Paulo Dybala are all options for the Spanish side. Eden Hazard seems unlikely since Chelsea will not want to sell their best player and the West London side are rich and won't be tempted by money. Julian Draxler and Dele Ali are solid players but these two options also seem unlikely since they are not at the level that Barcelona is looking for.
Draxler has not proven himself at the big stage yet and Ali does not have enough experience. The last option, Paulo Dybala, seems much more likely. The Argentinan is experienced and has done it on the big stage before. Furthermore, Juventus will not say no to a big offer by Barcelona making this the most likely option.
