The WWE held their Great Balls Of Fire pay-per-view event in Dallas and there were a ton of title matches but none of the titles changed hands on the show. While that normally means that the event was less than meaningful, there were a few things that happened that will steer the Monday Night Raw brand into SummerSlam in unexpected ways. Here is a look at the results of Great Balls of Fire and the WWE fallout that is expected.
Roman Reigns commits an unspeakable act
One of the things that great heroes need to do in any medium is to remain humble when losing and work harder to win.
That did not happen with Roman Reigns, who the WWE has been pushing as their top face for three years now. Reigns battled the monster Braun Strowman in an Ambulance Match at Great Balls of Fire and lost.
Braun Strowman, the villain, did not cheat to win. As a matter of fact, Roman Reigns lost because he made a poor decision and tried to spear Braun into the back of the ambulance, missed, and was locked inside for the win. However, what happened after the match was something that made Roman the villain - not Braun.
Roman Reigns attacked Braun Strowman after the match and threw him into the ambulance. Roman then got into the ambulance and drove it into the parking garage where he then drove full speed into a trailer from another truck and left Braun a bloody mess.
If the WWE does what they should do in this case, they will punish Roman and take away his SummerSlam title opportunity because this was clearly above and beyond the realm of belief that he could get away with this act.
Brock Lesnar's next challenger
If Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns will be called off now due to the punishment handed down to Roman, one wonders what that will mean for SummerSlam.
The original plan was for Lesnar to battle Strowman. When Braun Strowman was able to walk away from the ambulance crash at Great Balls of Fire, it made one wonder if Braun will get Brock next instead of Roman.
However, there is another wildcard here. Samoa Joe put on one of the most realistically competitive matches that Brock Lesnar has had in years (not counting the Goldberg WrestleMania match).
Samoa Joe was actually beating Brock until Lesnar hit his F5 out of nowhere for the win. After the match, Samoa Joe sent out a tweet.
We've only just begun...

With that said, Samoa Joe is now a bigger star than ever in the WWE. He has proven that he can match up with Brock Lesnar and a rematch between these two men at SummerSlam could be huge. If that happens, possibly expect another Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman match at the summer event as they continue to try to kill each other.
