samoa joe is booked to wrestle Brock Lesnar at the next WWE "Monday Night Raw" themed pay-per-view "Great Balls Of Fire." This is a dream match for many people who have followed Joe's career for years, as one of the toughest wrestlers in Ring of Honor and TNA Impact Wrestling will battle one of the toughest wrestlers in WWE history. However, Joe's fans will want to keep their expectations in check and just hope for a good match because Professional wrestling insider Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that this is going to be a one-off match and the feud will end at the PPV.
Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe
The idea of Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe is mouth watering for fans of Joe. Both men use an MMA wrestling style and both are hard-hitting superstars. This will be nothing like any match that Lesnar has fought since he returned to the WWE. As reported, Samoa Joe will lose this match and Brock will move on to his next feud.
The problem is that mainstream WWE fans, which is a lot of women and kids who have no idea who Samoa Joe was before he came to the WWE, don't care. "Great Balls of Fire" gives Joe a chance to show that he should be in the main event of the WWE in the future. However, when it comes to the match, this is just Brock Lesnar starting his journey to "WrestleMania 34" next year.
Brock Lesnar's plans
The WWE plans still appear to have Brock Lesnar hold the WWE Universal Championship until "WrestleMania 34" because the money match will be against Roman Reigns. Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns are the only two men who beat The Undertaker at "WrestleMania" and they will face off to determine the big dog of the WWE.
Samoa Joe wasn't supposed to get this title shot at "Great Balls of Fire." Originally, Braun Strowman was going to fight Roman Reigns in an Ambulance Match at "Extreme Rules" and Braun was going to win the WWE title shot against Lesnar. Despite missing out on this shot, Braun Strowman is supposed to get a title shot anyway at "SummerSlam," which was originally going to be a rematch between the two wrestlers.
After that, Brock Lesnar will defend his title at least two more times, and maybe more, before he faces Roman Reigns at "WrestleMania 34." As mentioned, Samoa Joe won't get another shot after "Great Balls of Fire" unless plans change. Instead, the WWE has plans to give both Seth Rollins and Finn Balor title shots against Brock with "Survivor Series" and "Royal Rumble" the most obvious choices.
Meanwhile, a great match between Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe could result in Joe getting a big push as well and possibly a chance at something like the Intercontinental Championship or a major WWE feud heading into "WrestleMania 34" as well.
