The Nebraska football team's recruiting class continues to roll right along. The Huskers have been doing a very good job at getting the eye of some of the best players in the country.

That includes getting the eye of one particular defensive player Nebraska didn't think it had much of a shot at landing just a month ago. The chances of getting the commitment of Micah Parsons increased when the budding defensive star attended Friday Night Lights.

Among the things that apparently convinced Parsons to give Nebraska another look was the number of fans who attended the one-day camp.

The outside linebacker told ESPN on Friday he had narrowed down his list of five schools and the Cornhuskers are definitely in that list.

Nebraska football playing with the big boys again

When talking about the five schools that are going to get a visit from Parsons, the Huskers are hardly the only power-five team. Ohio State, Florida State, Penn State and Miami are the other teams the five-star recruit is going to visit.

Going up against the top powers in the country is hardly a new occurrence for Nebraska this year. As the team has gotten more attention from some of the best recruits in the country, it has had to fight off the perennial powers of the college football world.

Friday Night Lights is one of those tools that has allowed the Huskers to stay ahead of the curve.

Nebraska impressed almost everyone who attended the camp and it seems as though there could be more than a few commits eventually coming out of the event.

Nebraska football wooing the best of the best

Parsons is far from the only top of the top players the Huskers are going after. Cam Brown, who was once a commit to the team has since reopened his recruiting.

He also appeared at Friday Night Lights and appears to have the Cornhuskers on his radar again.

There is also the fact that Nebraska landed Joshua Moore right before the camp. Moore is a wide receiver that could be one of the best the school has landed in quite a long time. Now it just has to close out the class.

When talking about closing that class, getting Micah Parsons would be a great finale.

Nebraska is a team that has been floating around the top 10 for most of the season.

Other schools have come close to jumping them or supplanting them in the rankings, but Mike Riley and company have managed to stay among the best of the best. Now that the Nebraska football team is getting the attention of one of the best defenders in the country, clinching a spot high in the rankings seems doable.
