Washington is going for their second win in a row after defeating the Indiana Fever two days ago, despite losing star Elena Delle Donne to an injury. Coming into today's road game, the Washington Mystics have a questionable playing status for Tayler Hill and Elena Delle Donne.
In their previous outing, Delle Donne went down with an injury just three minutes into the game. She was set for another evaluation on Saturday with her status to be determined. However, her teammates picked up the slack in a 72-58 win over the Indiana Fever to take back the Eastern Conference standings lead.
Meanwhile, the New York Liberty may have the league's second-best scorer in Tina Charles, but they have been struggling on the offensive end. Head coach Bill Laimbeer said the team isn't getting "consistent bench scoring," so they'll hope for that to correct itself in today's contest. The team has dropped their last two games to the Chicago Sky and Phoenix Mercury, each by at least 10 points at home.
As of this report, odds makers had an opening line of three-points in favor of the visiting Washington Mystics. However, at least one book has a line with the Mystics at -107 on the moneyline and a -1.5 point spread, with the home team at -113. The over/under points total was at 158 as of this report.
