Two heavyweight soccer teams Manchester United and Real Madrid will take on each other in the pre-season friendly match at Levi's Stadium, Santa Carla, USA. Both teams faced each other last time in pre-season friendlies of 2014. That friendly match was won by Manchester United by 3-1 to Real Madrid.
This year both teams will again come together to lost nothing as It's just a friendly soccer match. Manchester United has been on winning streak of five games, whereas Real Madrid has won four of their last five games. Another thing to consider that this match will be Real Madrid's first game of their pre-season tour.
Manchester United has already played three matches of their pre-season tour against LA Galaxy, Real Salt Lake, and Manchester City.
Manchester United
Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho has been testing the different combinations of players. As It's just friendlies and It doesn't matter you win or lose in International Champions Cup. In the Last match, against their local rivals Manchester City, Jose Mourinho tried the new combination of his new signing Romelo Lukaku and teenager Marcus Rashford in striking for the first time. It worked out pretty well as both players netted one goal each to seal the win by 2-0.
Jose said in the pre-match interview against City that the players who would play 60 minutes against Manchester City would play 30 minutes against Real Madrid and the players who would play 30 minutes would play for 60 minutes against Real Madrid.
So it is pretty known after Manchester City games that who will play for 60 minutes and 30 minutes out of 90 minutes game. Juan Mata is again doubtful to play as he was injured in the game against Real Salt Lake. Now Jose will definitely try to find best combinations of players to build his final playing 11 squads as the upcoming season is around the corner.
Real Madrid
This will be the first match of their pre-season friendly tour 2017/18. Real Madrid will be without their superstar player Cristiano Ronaldo. Cristiano Ronaldo has been enjoying an extended summer break after competing with Portugal in the Confederations Cup and will now spend three days in China. Real Madrid is also active in summer transfer window.
Madrid has sold their striker Alvaro Morata to London soccer club Chelsea on Friday for around 60 million euros. Their another player James Rodrigez is on a loan spell for two years to German soccer giants Bayern Munich.
Their upcoming match against Manchester United would be great opportunity to test some of their inexperienced players. Zinedine Zidane will also undoubtedly test his every player against United. Both teams will again lock horns in August for UEFA Super Cup which is played between UEFA Champions Leagues Winners and UEFA Europa League Winners. Real Madrid has the crown of UEFA Champions League, whereas Manchester United are the latest winners of UEFA Europa League.
