Dominic Thiem will play against Rafael Nadal in the french open semifinals. That will be their first matchup after Thiem's huge victory in Rome and he is still the only player that has beat Rafael on clay this season.

Thiem destroyed Djokovic, Carreno-Busta retired against Nadal

Dominic Thiem is playing amazing tennis this season, especially on clay, so it's no surprise that he is the only man who defeated Rafa on the clay court this season.

Thiem showed his qualities on Wednesday against the French Open champion and former No.1 Novak Djokovic. The Serbian opened the match better, as he led 4-2 in the first set. But, Thiem managed to turn the things around and took the set in the tie-break. The rest of the match was all about Dominic, as he left Novak without a chance, winning 12 of the last 15 games.

The Austrian hit 38 winners in the match, while he had only 28 unforced errors. Meanwhile, Djokovic had 18 winners and 35 unforced errors.

Rafael Nadal had a 6-2 2-0 lead, when his opponent Pablo Carreno-Busta decided to retire because of an injury.

Nadal is looking for his tenth French Open title.

Murray beat Nishikori, "Stan the Man" was impressive

Andy Murray is looking better and better in this tournament. He defeated the World No.9 Kei Nishikori in four sets to reach the French Open semifinals for the fourth straight year. The Scotsman is looking for his first French Open title in his career and he won't have an easy task on Friday against the former champion Stan Wawrinka.

Murray committed six double faults in the match, while he served only three sets, so that is certainly a part of the game that he needs to improve. But, Murray was a very focused and mentally strong against Nishikori, as he had 31 winners and only 26 unforced errors in two hours and 43 minutes of play.

Meanwhile, Kei Nishikori finished the match with 45 unforced errors.

Stanislas Wawrinka beat Marin Cilic 6-3 6-3 6-1 after just one hour and 42 minutes. The former French Open champion opened the match with an early break to secure the first set. He had no trouble with his serve in the first set, as he saved the only break point in the opening game. Cilic tried to stay in the match with some aggressive plays, but after six games in the second set, Wawrinka broke his serve once again and that was the end for the Croat.

Stan Wawrinka had just two winners more than Cilic, but Cilic committed 15 unforced errors more than the Swiss and that was the key in this match.
