Friday night's WNBA action will feature the Phoenix Mercury hosting the Chicago Sky. In this game, WNBA history could be made as Phoenix's Diana Taurasi could become the all-time leading scorer in the league. Taurasi and the Mercury are also looking to continue their pursuit of another WNBA title, as her team is just above .500 and in the hunt for a playoff spot. Here's the latest preview of the Sky vs. Mercury game including odds, TV time, channel and how to watch it live streaming online.

Game preview

Diana Taurasi is just 29 points from breaking the WNBA all-time scoring record for most points.

Should she score that many tonight, she'll pass current record holder Tina Thompson who has 7,488 points. Taurasi is 86 points above Tamika Catchings on the list, and over 100 points ahead of the No. 4 player on the list, Katie Smith. While Taurasi may edge closer to that record or break it, her teammate Britney Griner is leading the league in scoring this season with 23.8 points per game.

Their Mercury team currently sits at 5-4 overall in the WNBA Western Division which is good for third-best. Only the top four teams make it to the postseason for the league. Phoenix will be looking to bounce back from their previous game in which they lost to the Los Angeles Sparks at home, 89-87. In that game, Taurasi had 27 points and six 3-pointers to help try to will her team to the win.

The Chicago Sky come into tonight's game still trying to find ways to win without former league MVP Elena Delle Donne. The Sky are currently 2-7 overall and 2-3 on the road. They'll be entering this game sitting in last place in the Eastern standings, but won their previous game against the league's winless San Antonio Stars, 85-81.

Allie Quigley tallied 16 points, nine of which came in an overtime period, to lead her team. Stefanie Dolson led all Sky players with 25 points.

Oddsmakers have pegged Phoenix as a large home favorite, giving them eight points on the spread for tonight. The over/under for tonight's game is currently around 164 to 165 points for the complete contest.
